Ohio Association of Rheumatology is pleased to announce podium presentation and poster sessions during the OAR 15th Annual Meeting. While the podium presentations are exclusively for rheumatology residents, fellows, and students in training, OAR is encouraging nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses to submit abstracts for Saturday’s poster session. Clinicians and students with selected abstracts will have the opportunity to discuss their work and receive feedback from their peers.

Unique or diagnostically challenging cases with a pictorial physical exam or radiographic findings are preferred, especially for the podium presentations.

The deadline to submit your abstract is August 7, 2020. You can submit your abstract to Danielle Carrier at danielle@wjweiser.com.

Submissions should include a cover page that includes the abstract title and the following information for each author: name, degree, affiliation, address

Please indicate the author(s) who would present their poster with the “*” symbol.

Abstracts should have a maximum of 3000 characters (includes spaces). If you are including a figure or illustration it should be appended to the end of the abstract within your document and the maximum character count is 2500 which includes spaces.

The format of the abstract is as follows:

  • Title: The title of the abstract must be in all caps and bold-faced.
  • Abstract: The body of the abstract must contain an introduction and objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Funding: You must indicate any financial funding at the end of the abstract; if there is no support “none” must be listed. This section does not count towards total character limit.
  • Figure/Table (optional): Attach within the word document after the abstract and must include a label.

Please also note the following: Abbreviations may only be used after the words are written out in full at first mention. Abstracts will be de-identified prior to review hence please do not include any reference to your institution or authors in the body of the text. It is the author's responsibility to submit the abstract in perfect order with no errors in spelling or grammar. Abstracts will not be retyped or corrected. Abstracts not received in the proper format will not be considered by the Review Committee.
