Management of COVID-19 in Ohio

Telemedicine is at the top of Ohio decisionmakers’ list right now in response to the pandemic.
The State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBO, Medical Board) met on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and voted to expand the use of telemedicine for medical licensees in order to safely provide essential health care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also, the Department of Medicaid (DOM) is expected to announce specific requirements following an executive order issued to allow coverage for Medicaid telehealth coverage in the coming days.
The Ohio Department of Health (OHD) has put up resources to guide Ohioans about COVID-19. The ODH coronavirus disease 2019 call center can be reached at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH. The ODH center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including weekends.
As of the morning of March 20, 2020 there have been 119 confirmed cases in Ohio found in 24 counties, with 33 hospitalizations.
