News & Advocacy Unified Preferred Drug List for All Ohio Medicaid Beneficiaries posted: December 2, 2019 Beginning January 1, 2020, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and Medicaid Managed Care Plans (MCPs) will begin using a Unified Preferred Drug List (UPDL) which will establish a single PBM to administer MCPs’ pharmacy benefits as required by the General Assembly. All Ohio Medicaid MCPs will use a standard drug list and the same prior authorization criteria. The ODM claims that any drug will continue to be available to Medicaid members, even if it is not on the UPDL but may be subject to prior authorization. The UPDL and additional information is now available on the ODM’s website. Learn More
